About Us
Industrial Testing Laboratory Services originated in 1959 as a leader in metallurgical, nondestructive and mechanical testing services. Originally located in Sharpsburg, PA, ITLS is now ideally located in Pittsburgh, PA where we can effectively serve the defense, nuclear and manufacturing industries.
Industrial Testing Laboratory Services is a family-owned small business under the leadership of Michael Kowatch and his wife Aileen. Michael, a U.S. Navy Veteran, has been in the nondestructive and testing laboratory industry for well over 35 years. Certified as a Weld Examiner, NAVSEA Examiner, NDT Level III (ASNT) and NAS 410 Level III, Michael and his team have the experience and knowledge to complete any project.
The ITLS facilities have recently been upgraded and our capabilities continue to expand to meet the growing needs of our customers. Our technicians have decades of experience and continuously participate in ongoing training and support to meet industry demands.
